Returns or Exchanges by Mail

Place your item in the original packaging, if available, and enclose a completed Return and Exchange Form. You'll find the form right on the packing slip that came with your order. If you purchased your item at an L.L.Bean store or you don't have the original packing slip, you can download the form here.

  For fast, free return shipping, simply fill out your Return & Exchange form and use our prepaid shipping label (see below). Not a Cardmember? Learn more.

  ¹Free return shipping is available exclusively to L.L.Bean Visa Cardmembers. Recipients who are not L.L.Bean Visa Cardmembers are not eligible for this benefit. Free return shipping requires the use of a designated L.L.Bean return label. APO/FPO addresses must use the designated USPS return label. Free return shipping does not apply to items requiring freight shipping, Direct to Business items or items returned from US Territories or international locations. Free return shipping may be restricted if the number of items returned in the prior one year period exceeds the number of items purchased within that time. For information about rates, fees, other costs and the reward program rules (including points accrual rate, bonuses, awards, etc.) and benefits associated with the use of this credit card program, please see the Terms and Conditions.

• Returns from the US

  Use one of the shipping labels included on the packing slip that came with your order or print one online. Then place it over the original shipping label on your package.

  Print a prepaid return label(Please note that your refund will be reduced by $6.50 if you use this label.)

  With our prepaid label, you can ship your package via UPS or USPS.

  UPS, our preferred option , allows you to track your return online and provides fast service within 2-5 business days. Find a UPS shipping location.
  
  Returns sent via US Postal Service take 3-8 business days, depending on your location. No online tracking information is available for packages shipped via US Mail.

  If you choose not to use our prepaid label, you will be responsible for paying all return shipping costs. Please ship your return to:

  Exchanges within the US are usually delivered within two weeks of the day you put the exchange in the mail. For faster service, contact Customer Service to request an L.L.Bean QuickExchange.

• Returns from Canada

  Please note: If the item was purchased within the last four years, our Canadian customs broker will submit a claim form for duty and taxes to Revenue Canada on your behalf. We will refund the purchase price, plus any duties and tax charges, directly to you.

  If you request an exchange, we will pay shipping and handling charges for the item we ship to you (you will be responsible for duty and tax charges on the new item). Please allow 4-6 weeks for delivery.

L.L.Bean QuickExchange

For the fastest service, call Customer Service at 800-441-5713 to request a QuickExchange or simply place a new order online or by phone. We'll ship your new item right away. We'll need to charge you the purchase price, but once we receive your return, we'll credit you for the cost of the original item.

Returning Items Delivered by Freight

If you discover a problem after you've accepted delivery, please contact us at 800-341-4341. We may be able to resolve the problem without requiring you to return the item. Please retain all packing material until you're completely satisfied with the condition and performance of your purchase. Doing so will make it easier to return the item if necessary.

If you do wish to return or exchange a freight item, please contact us at 800-341-4341. We will arrange the return shipment with a freight company.

Return Without a Receipt

We encourage you to include your receipt in order to help us process your return more quickly. However, we'll accept your return without the original receipt (except if it was purchased at an L.L.Bean Outlet). If you return an item without a receipt, please help speed processing time by telling us where and when you purchased the product.

Repairs and Replacement Parts

At L.L.Bean, we help our customers "Reduce, Reuse, Resole." For a reasonable fee, we can extend the life of your L.L.Bean Boots.
